Rhythm Mission
PleasureGroveProductions

The Rhythm Express is now the Rhythm
Mission and we are going to become
one of the premier names in the Denver
scene! We've got some incredible
singers and players, so be prepared
for a great show from the Rhythm
Mission! For booking, you can contact
Steve by phone at 720-404-6073 or email
us  at:
info@therhythmband.com.

Bill Bronchick is our
powerhouse guitarist
and vocalist. On bass
and vocals, we have
Bob Carey. Manuel
Rodriguez is on the
keyboards and vocals,
and Steve Pavey is
the drummer and
vocalist for the group.
With all four members
able to sing lead and
harmonize, the band
has an edge over
nearly all of our
competition! And with
versatility that ranges
from Eric Clapton to
Joe Cocker, Rolling
Stones to The Band,
as well as Beatles,
Kinks, CCR, Stevie
Ray Vaughan,
James Taylor and
even the late, great
Johnny Cash, we
know how to keep
people dancing!

Rhythm Notes

The Rhythm Mission is starting to gell!

Looks like we are going to get on a regular rotation at Herman's!
I want to get this band into Ziggie's regular rotation, as well and
get in to Chapultepec 2, Blondies, Jammin' Joe's and start to
bring the Rhythm Mission to the masses! Our playing and vocals
are starting to really gell and the band is starting to discover it's
potential, as we add some Queen, Delbert McClinton and more
Betales, Stones and Joe Walsh to the mix. One of the band's
goals is to add songs to our playlist that most bands don't play.
It helps us to achieve that goal with 4 distinct lead voices and
the ability to harmonize in three and four part harmony as well!

The gig at Herman's was a blast!

The Rhythm Mission played our first gig at Herman's
Hideaway on Wed, October 5th, the day after my
youngest daughter celebrated her 21st birthday and
it was a blast!

From the opening song to the last song we played,
there were people dancing and singing along! And
of course Herman's has a great sound system. We
got a lot of compliments on both our song selection
and the fact that every member of the band took a
turn on lead vocals, as well as having some good
harmonies. Feels good to be on the drummer's chair
again pounding the skins and singing my little hippie
heart out!

RIP, Clarence Clemons

 I heard with great sadness
of the death of Mr. Clarence
Clemons, The Big Man from
the E Street Band. He was
one guy who every time I saw
him play in concert, in a movie
or on TV, I thought "He would
be a cool guy to just hang out
with". He was the kind of player
whose attitude was infectious
when he played. You watched
him and you just knew that he
was having an out-of -body
experience whenever he played.
The Big Man set the standard
that every musician aspires to.
I feel like I've lost a member of
my family.

New Band!

I'm parting ways with The Rhythm Junkies, due to disagreements on how the band should go forward. I like to rehearse tight sets while the Junkies prefer to be loose and sloppy. I'm putting together a new band, The Rhythm Express!

The Rhythm Express is still going to feature great vocals, but in addition it is going to have a lot of percussion with the addition of congas, timbales and other hand percussion along with my kicking it on the drum kit. The keys will be more prominient as well - if you dig the B-3 sound and the funky piano style of Dr.John and Billy Preston, you're gonna want to climb aboard The Rhythm Express!

RIP, Gil Scott-Heron :(

I heard the news last night from a friend that Gil Scot-Heron died. He was only 62, but the man was a giant. The Real Deal. Gil Scott-Heron was a man of vision and integrity, and the world is a darker place without him in it.

BIG changes coming soon!

There are some major changes coming soon that are going to take things to a whole new level! Stay tuned!!

Ziggies ROCKED last night!

It was a great gig last night! The sound was great and the people were awesome!

The Rhythm Junkies are playing Ziggies!

Ziggies has been an institution in Denver for decades, so we are really excited to be playing there this Saturday night! The show is gonna ROCK!

Mixing is coming along!

Posted the first track from the session on Sunday! Mixing, mastering and syncing the video is still going on. It was a GOOD session! The band is really sounding good!!

The Rhythm Junkies are mixing a DVD from last night!

We recorded a great DVD at Smokin' Joe's last night(Sunday)! In the process of mixing the video and audio, but the rough tracks sound really good!
